Job Description

Looking to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry and learn about drug research, development, and manufacturing on a global scale? With operations in 35+ nations and ~ 20,000 employees worldwide, CSL is driven to develop and deliver a broad range of lifesaving therapies to treat disorders such as hemophilia and primary immune deficiencies, and vaccines to prevent influenza. Our therapies are also used in cardiac surgery, organ transplantation and burn treatment. The R&D Project Management department is looking for an intern to support it's Project and Portfolio Operations team. Reporting to the Head, R&D Project and Portfolio Operations, this role will provide support to Project Managers and cross-functional teams responsible for the planning and delivery of R&D projects. You will gain exposure to the complex process of how lifesaving therapies are discovered, developed, and launched in order to treat disorders and improve patients' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing project management and portfolio operations effectiveness
  • Contributes to the definition and implementation of portfolio operational capabilities such as PM system enhancements, reporting and analytics tools, and project delivery processes.
  • Participates in deployment and change management activities supporting new capabilities including system testing and end-user training and communications.
  • Collaborates with department, corporate (IT, Finance), and external stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
  • Uses basic project management skills to support the planning, execution, and reporting of internal initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Self-directed and able to work with little supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
